Chocolate orange cupcakes

This is recipe from BBC Food.


Ingredients
  • 120 g plain flour
  • 140 g caster sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 40 g butter
  • 50 g dark chocolate, melted
  • 1 egg
  • 125 ml milk
  • 1 orange, juice only
  • 3 tbsp granulated sugar
  • Buttercream:
    • 125 g butter
    • 250 g icing sugar
    • dash of melted chocolate

Preparation method


  • Preheat the oven to 170C. Line a 12-hole muffin tin with paper cases.
  • Mix the flour, sugar and baking powder together. Add the butter and puls until combined.
  • Whisk the melted chocolate, egg and milk together in a jug.
  • Stir the chocolate mixture into the flour mixture until just combined.
  • Spoon the mixture into the cases and bake for 15-20 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, mix the orange juice and granulated sugar together in a bowl. 
  • Beat the butter in the bowl and add the icing sugar.
  • Pour the cupcakes with orange juice icing. Then decorate the cupcakes with buttercream and pour it with melted chocolate.
